To celebrate its 11-year anniversary, London’s Connaught Bar, twice named best bar in the world, brought the art of mixology and a touch of whimsy to life with its No. 11 Martini, a cocktail — and an experience — like no other.
Using The Connaught’s own gin, GREY GOOSE® vodka, Amalfi lemon oil, wine distillate and five bitters (cardamom, tonka, ginseng & bergamot, lavender, and coriander seeds), the No. 11 is dispensed from a machine with the power equivalent to pouring the drink from the 11th floor of a building. This aeration imparts an enriched flavour profile that’s pleasing to the palate.
If the heights of the pour weren’t lofty enough, the No. 11 is presented with a half cut diamond of ice and served in a coupe that is handpainted by the bar team with five colours to represent the five bitters used. Using a technique inspired by the abstract impressionist artwork of Jackson Pollock and an ode to how the artist numbered his masterpieces.
So if you’re ever in London or happen to call the city home, stop by the Connaught for a truly masterful cocktail experience.
